Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission are worldwide, non-political, non-sectarian spiritual organizations which have been engaged in various forms of humanitarian, social service activities for more than a century. Inspired by the ideals of renunciation and service, the monks and lay devotees of the Math and Mission serve millions of men, women and children, without any distinction of caste, religion or race, because they see the living God in them
The Making of Kasundia Centre
The Ramakrishna Mission, Kasundia, Howrah , a Branch Centre of Ramakrishna Mission , Belur Math, started its journey in furtherance of the objects of Ramakrishna Mission, philanthropic, charitable and educational in the locality of Kasundia, Howrah, after handing-over and taking-over ceremony in August, 2019, from the glorious 100 year old, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama which was formed in 1916.
This Ashrama carried on philanthropic, charitable, educational and religious activities in conformity with the ideals of Thakur, Maa and Swamiji. To perform the work successfully, it maintained a close liaison with the revered monks of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math. This Ashrama organized in the year 1922, a day school, Howrah Vivekananda Institution. Some students of this institution became monks of Ramakrishna Mission later on.
The following revered monks adorned the chair of the President of the governing body of the ashrama.

Our Activities
The ideology of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission finds expression through their multifarious activities. These activities cover different areas of human need and social welfare such as education, health, rural development, self-employment, women’s welfare, inter-faith understanding, moral life, spiritual guidance, and relief to victims of calamities. All these activities are conducted as service, service to God in man. In the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, service is not restricted to a particular type of activity conducted at a particular time, but is a way of life. Even when the monks are not doing any service in the outside society, they do service within the monastic community. And there is no time limit or age limit for this. The monks continue to engage themselves in various service activities until they are incapacitated by illness or extreme old age.
Activities we do in Ramakrishna Mission Kasundia Center are:
- Daily Nara Narayan seva.
- A Charitable Allopathic Dispensary and a Charitable Homoeopathic Dispensary.
- Religious activities: Daily worship, religious discourses, observance of Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Christmas and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.
- Relief and Welfare work by way of distributing blankets, clothes, foods to the poor and needy.
Daily Nara Narayan Seva
The message of Sri Ramakrishna to humanity was to portray devotion towards the ultimate through serving human beings. This message was ignited by Swami Vivekananda in various parts of the world under the hood of Ramakrishna Mission. Even after his great demise, the message and desire still lives through the constant work of the numerous branches of the mission establishment. In Kasundia RKM branch, people in need are served in a variety of methods and thirty extremely needy persons are pledged tasteful lunch everyday which is possible due to the kind donations by devotees . Kasundia RKM has gained special attention due to their relentless work towards humanity headed by Swami Sarvavidananda Maharaj.
